Internship at the Ringling Museum of Art Library

2 weeks ago, I started a new internship at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art Library in Sarasota, Florida. In this prestigious paid internship, I am currently working with a selection of 16th and 17th century rare books, some from the library of John Ringling. In this project, I am researching the history behind each book as well as providing a condition report and an examination into the rarity and approximate value of each item. As I compile this information, I will be adding it to the Florida State University’s online library catalog. Near the end the project, I will select a few of the books to highlight on the Ringling library’s website. This internship will last for 10 weeks and I am enjoying living in this part of Southwest Florida and exploring all it has to offer.
